Baphumelele relies on donations to make the difference in the lives of the children, young people and patients who are cared for by the various different projects. Our wish list below gives an idea of the essential items that we need every year to help look after these most vulnerable members of the community:
BACK TO SCHOOL AGAIN!
One of our key aims is to ensure that every child and teenager in our care is able to attend school like any other child, with a proper uniform, shoes, a school bag, lunch box and the required stationery. Education is these children’s future and fitting in at school so that they can focus all their attention on learning is so important. We would therefore be very grateful for any donations towards the following to help the 150 children and teenagers in our care get ready for the new school year in January 2014:
- School uniform – white shirt; trousers/skirt or school tracksuit, jumper; rain jacket; grey or white socks
- School shoes – because the children walk to school and sometimes quite some distance, we hope to get them good quality shoes that will last the whole year
- School bag, lunch box and drinking bottle
- School stationery including 4 reams of typing paper; maths set, dictionary and calculator (high school); croxley black hardcover books; flip files; colouring pencils; ruler, eraser and pencil sharpener
Our children and teenagers attend a variety of schools which all have specific uniform requirements and stationery lists depending on age and gender, so please do get in touch with us if you would like to donate specific items. We can then give you more details of the children’s sizes and specific uniform requirements.
Many thanks in advance – it’s a huge task and we value highly your support in getting the children and teenagers back to school.
